Guided Meditation Follow-Along: A 10-Minute Session for Clarity and Calm

Follow this complete 10-minute guided meditation session for clarity and calm. You don't need any experience — just a quiet spot and 10 minutes. Start right now.

This is a complete guided meditation — written as instruction, not description. Read through once to familiarise yourself, then close your eyes and follow. If you lose your place, that's fine — just return to breathing.

Find your seat. Silence your phone. You have ten minutes. That's enough.

Arriving (1 minute)

Close your eyes gently. Take a moment to arrive here — in this body, in this chair, in this moment. You don't need to bring anything in with you. Whatever was on your mind a moment ago can wait.

Take three intentional breaths. Not deep performance breathing — just three breaths that are slower and more complete than your usual ones. Let each exhale release a little of whatever you're carrying.

Notice the weight of your body. The feeling of your hands in your lap. The contact of your feet with the floor. You are here.

Setting the Anchor (1 minute)

Choose your anchor: the sensations at the tip of your nostrils — the slight coolness of incoming air, the slight warmth of outgoing. Or the rise and fall of your belly with each breath. Choose one, and commit to it for this session.

For the next minute, simply rest your attention on this sensation. Not gripping it, not analysing it — just resting there. Like a hand resting gently on a surface.

The Main Sit (6 minutes)

Continue breathing naturally, attention on your anchor.

When your mind wanders — and it will — you'll notice it: thinking about lunch, rehashing a conversation, planning tomorrow. The moment you notice is the moment of return. Without self-criticism, gently bring attention back to the breath. In, out. In, out.

The returning is the practice. Each return is a repetition — a small mental training. The number of times your mind wanders is not a measure of how bad you are at this. It's just the mind doing what minds do. Your job is just to keep returning.

If you get completely lost, open your eyes briefly, take a breath, close them again, and return to the anchor. There's no failure here — only practice.

Keep going. Six minutes of this.

Deepening (1 minute)

Without changing your breath, begin to notice the quality of your present experience more broadly. What's the texture of this moment? Not analysing — just noticing.

Notice sounds in the room. You don't need to identify them — just receive them as sounds.

Notice sensations in your body — temperature, the hum of aliveness in your hands, the gentle movement of breathing. Simply notice, without preference.

This is awareness without agenda. This is mindfulness.

Integration (1 minute)

Release the formal practice. Let your breath be completely natural.

Sit for one more minute in whatever state you're in — calm, scattered, rested, alert. Whatever is here, let it be here without needing to change it. This moment is already complete.

When you're ready, take one intentional breath in, and release it completely.

Open your eyes slowly, as if returning from somewhere.

After the Session

Take 30 seconds before picking up your phone. Notice the quality of your surroundings — how they seem slightly more vivid, or how your body feels slightly more settled. This isn't a side effect. It's what attention training does.
